    TEACHING MODEL

    AKS University's teaching is based on the 60-20-20 Teaching Model so that 60% of teaching would be done by eminent & highly qualified in-house faculty drawn from world-leading institutes like IITs, NIT; 20% of teaching would be done by Adjunct faculty from leading institutes form the country & abroad, and balance 20% will be taught by practicing Industry professionals. Leveraging ICT innovatively, Adjunct faculty and industry professionals would teach through Webinars, besides live lectures.

     

    SKILLING MODEL

    The University's structure and philosophy are based upon a 75:15:10 Employment Model whereby 75% of the graduating students would take up jobs in companies, 15% would become Employer-Entrepreneurs, and a balance of 10% would go into research activity. Besides teaching, internships, and industry projects, well-equipped research labs and incubator cells are a key features of AKS University.

    The self-funded research projects of the department are as follows:-

    • Use of alternative of river sand in construction.
    • Study on use of low grade and high MgO limestone in cement manufacture.
    • Maximization of fly ash use in production of Portland Pozolana Cement.
    • Alternate Fuel and Raw Materials for Portland cement manufacture.

    Industrial Visits & Training

    • Every semester cement plant visits are organized for the hands-on learning experience via plant demonstrations.
    • A one-week simulator-based training at National Council for Cement and Building is organized every year.
    • Materials are procured for demonstration and learning of the cement manufacturing process for Diploma and B. Tech. students.
    • Last semester, B.Tech. Cement Technology organized a 180 days of job training in a cement plant.

    OVERVIEW

    Civil engineering is the oldest branch of engineering which is growing right from the stone age of civilization. American society of civil engineering defines civil engineering as the profession in which a knowledge of the mathematical and physical sciences gained by study, experience and practice is applied with judgment to develop ways to utilize economically the materials and forces of nature for the progressive well being of man.

    VISION

    Traditionally Civil Engineering has played an important role in improving the civic life of society by harmonizing the natural resources available on earth. Some of the major areas in the field of Civil Engineering are design and construction of various structures like bridges, buildings, roads, tunnels and dams, developing new construction technologies, Design and development of Foundation systems, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Municipal and Sanitary services, surveying, GIS and remote sensing, and Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering.

    The Department offers a three-year course leading to the Diploma in Civil Engineering, four-year course leading to the B.Tech in Civil Engineering and two-year courses leading to Masters Degree in Water Resources Engineering. The Department is known for its reputed faculty having expertise in diverse fields. It has built up a wide research potential. The laboratories are equipped with advanced equipment and provide all the facilities for advanced research in the field of civil engineering.

    RACE (Recent Advances in Civil Engineering),

    this flagship annual technical seminar organized by the department has been a success. Its first event was launched in 2015. The theme of the RACE 2015 (25th September to 26th September) was various advance technologies and researches in civil engineering where over around 200 delegates attended

    RACE 2016 held during (24th September to 25th September) was attended by 100 plus delegates where technical papers on the main theme Smart Cities: Concept, Problem and Remedies was deliberated.

    1. Undersigned has tested various vegetable crops under Polyhouse and open field conditions. Performance of Broccoli, Red Cabbage, and Cauliflower was excellent as compared to open field conditions under Agro climatic conditions of Satna.
    2. Served as a In-charge of ornamental and beautification of whole of the campus. Undersigned is also involved in planning and execution of medicinal garden of the University.
    3. Undersigned has handled its complete planning and maintenance of old Polyhouse in which off season vegetables viz. Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Cauliflower, Bottle guard and other crops were grown successfully with highest yield and better quality as compared to open field conditions.
    4. Recently University has planned to established new big Polyhouse (more than one acre) at research farm and I was appointed to established this new Polyhouse with complete planning including fertigation, planting of roses procured from Poona nursery. This is one of biggest Poly house in the private sector education system.
    5. Undersigned is involved in all academic work of University as well as Department of Horticulture. I am also teaching all UG and PG courses of Department of Horticulture.
    6. Undersigned is involved in all Horticulture Research work including PG research thesis planning/ guiding and conduction of field experiments on various aspect of Horticulture crops.

    Overview of the Department

    Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering and is called an evergreen branch because of the steady demand for mechanical engineers from the industries.

    Almost all the inventions of ancient period and modern era are direct contributions of Mechanical Engineering. It caters to Automobiles, Railways, Aviation, Thermal Power Plants, Hydro Power Plants, Textile, Petroleum, Chemical, and variety of other industries. The branch involves design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems.

    The Department along with its strong faculties provides an academic platform of international repute that is dedicated to train and build educated minds. We believe that besides learning from books and examples, learning practically help to achieve soundness of knowledge. With this view, the department operates with a prerogative of combining classroom teaching with the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for all the subjects. Complete attention is paid towards the exercise of prudence and care in the management of resources to render basic and specialized engineering education necessary to keep pace with the present and emerging requirements of the society.

    The Department of Mechanical Engineering, AKS University, Satna runs Diploma, undergraduate and post-graduate programs in the form of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, B. Tech. and M. Tech.( Production, Industrial Engineering, Renewable energy, Thermal, Design ) along with Doctoral with its potent workforce of fifteen faculty members.

    The Department promotes students to participate in competitions related to technology and innovation. Our undergraduate students are involved in research works on the development of several product prototypes.
