Established in 2013, the Department of Horticulture at AKS University, Satna (M.P.) offers highly specialized programs to meet the growing needs of India, both domestically and internationally. We offer B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and M.Sc. (Horticulture) programs with specializations in Vegetable Science and Floriculture and landscaping. At AKS University, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills and knowledge required to fulfill the needs of India, particularly Madhya Pradesh. Career Prospects:

There are ample opportunities and career paths in the horticulture field. Several options are available for graduates or postgraduates in horticulture. Lucrative jobs are available in both the public and private sectors. Students can apply for the positions of District Horticulture Officer, District Agriculture Officer, Senior Horticulture Development Officer, and Rural Horticulture Extension Officer through the examination conducted by the State Public Service Commission. In addition to this, they can also apply for the post of Technical Assistant or Technical officer in Agricultural Universities, ICAR, DRDO, IARI, CSIR, etc. There are lots of opportunities in the field of landscape design, taking on contractors for different projects, or working for companies dealing with seeds, fertilizers, sprays, and other related fields of horticulture. A horticulturist can also choose a career in the education sector as a professor. Those holding a Ph.D. degree can apply for the examination conducted by the Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board, ICAR, New Delhi. This examination is conducted for the post of scientist.

  1. Undersigned has tested various vegetable crops under Polyhouse and open field conditions. Performance of Broccoli, Red Cabbage, and Cauliflower was excellent as compared to open field conditions under Agro climatic conditions of Satna.
  2. Served as a In-charge of ornamental and beautification of whole of the campus. Undersigned is also involved in planning and execution of medicinal garden of the University.
  3. Undersigned has handled its complete planning and maintenance of old Polyhouse in which off season vegetables viz. Broccoli, Red Cabbage, Cauliflower, Bottle guard and other crops were grown successfully with highest yield and better quality as compared to open field conditions.
  4. Recently University has planned to established new big Polyhouse (more than one acre) at research farm and I was appointed to established this new Polyhouse with complete planning including fertigation, planting of roses procured from Poona nursery. This is one of biggest Poly house in the private sector education system.
  5. Undersigned is involved in all academic work of University as well as Department of Horticulture. I am also teaching all UG and PG courses of Department of Horticulture.
  6. Undersigned is involved in all Horticulture Research work including PG research thesis planning/ guiding and conduction of field experiments on various aspect of Horticulture crops.
